All of this is possible due to the nature of my job. It’s IT-related, highly specialized, and there’s no one here doing anything like it. Plus, I’m quite good at pretending to be very busy. There are many days when I leave early, because all my co-workers work parttime and have left even earlier.

My manager is regularly out of office, which makes skipping work even easier. This has been my modus operandi for about the past ten years. Apparently I have one of those bullshit jobs.
