Taking place after events of the second season of the anime television series, a group of detectives learn of a string of apparent suicide cases that have been happening to people with supernatural powers. Atsushi Nakajima and his friends thus go to confront the culprit of this case, a man named Tatsuhiko Shibusawa. The film was conceived by Asagiri, who wished to continue the story after the television series had concluded in late GranrodeoScreen Mode and Luck Life provided the film’s theme songs. A two-volume manga adaptation of the film was released in Japan, and two light novels were also written to buungou the film. Critical reception to the film was generally positive for the handling of the character’s roles and the visuals, though many felt that newcomers to the series would have difficulty understanding the story. The Special Operations Division deduce that this incident is tied to Shibusawa, now buungou self-proclaimed «collector». The night before the Agency is to commence operations, Atsushi Nakajima has an unsettling dream of his past in an orphanage, where an out-of-place door painted with a white tiger is engulfed in fog.

The Characters
Whenever the fog rolls in, it leaves behind gifted who appear to have been killed by their own powers. Naturally, the Armed Detective Agency is asked to investigate the puzzling deaths. Unfortunately, before they can track down The Collector, he releases the eerie green fog in their hometown of Yokohama. The citizens of the town mysteriously disappear, leaving only the gifted behind. Now powerless, the gifted from the agency must conquer the darker sides of themselves — their powers in physical form. Instead, the film plunges viewers into a dark, seedy city full of bloodshed. The opening sequence sets the bar high. Audiences are treated to a high octane battle full of gore, motorcycles stunts, and powerful gifted attacks. It jumps right into the story, assuming that viewers will pick things up along the way. To a certain extent, this works.

Homeowners insurance in Yokohama must be exorbitant, because it seems like the place is always on the brink of caving in on. In the series’ last installment, it was killer mind-controlling trees and the threat of a giant whale ship exploding over the cityscape. This time a green fog wafts through the streets, sapping special abilities from their owners and giving them physical form, and none of these materialized phenomena want to be friends. Despite the wide scope of Yokohama’s latest disaster, Bungo Stray Dogs: Dead Apple hones in on the key players of its ever-expanding cast and focuses on their personal motivations and weaknesses, resulting in an emotionally satisfying film. Like earlier seasons, Dead Apple does have an overarching conspiracy central to its story, but it’s all too convoluted with evanescent connective tissue at best. Two new foes are introduced, Tatsuhiko Shibusawa and Fyodor D. Dazai’s own motivation for teaming up with them, mainly to betray Shibusawa and destroy his enormous collection of Gifted skills, seems incredibly flimsy given the stakes. All three are prepared to be betrayed at any time, only working together tenuously in the hopes of outsmarting the others and achieving their own ends. If the villains are the film’s weakest point, Atsushi’s journey is its strength. The previous two seasons established that he still suffers mentally and emotionally from the abuse he experienced how much money did bungou stray dogs dead apple make in an orphanage. He has since struggled to believe he has the right to live much less any place to belong, after the adults in his life abandoned him and reinforced a negative view of. In moments of crisis, these feelings well up again, and Atsushi is only able to reconcile them by willingly sacrificing himself for. Dead Apple opens the door literally on the extent of Atsushi’s abuse and a deep guilt he’s carried from one of the few times he lashed .
